8.9 Earthquake
I was at Coffee Bean updating this Blog, when the earthquake supposedly took place. I actually didn't feel anything and didn't know about it until I was getting text messages (SMS's) from a friend asking if I was ok.
It wasn't until Sharath called and told me how big the quake actually was...did I realize that it was much more serious.

What were you doing at Coffee Bean at 12:09am Malaysian time?
Your link says it was a 8.7 Earthquake. But then the article says, "Meanwhile, our correspondent Amy Chew reports from Jakarta that local television stations reported that the earthquake, which measured 8.9 on the Richter scale, struck off the coast of Medan in north Sumatra at 11.09pm local time." They should have got the facts before printing the story.
Here's a caption from one of the pictures of people standing outside, "PLAYING IT SAFE: Vista Angkasa flats residents in Kuala Lumpur rushing out after feeling the tremors." and then a quoted person, "One of my neighbours, who was having his bath, also rushed out of his apartment, wearing only his towel!"
I thought that was funny so I had to let you know.
Hahahaha this is funny too:
"Some residents were even seen moving their furniture into the streets.
"The visuals also showed police patrolling the streets of Banda Aceh in a bid to keep everyone calm and prevent possible looting."
Hey remember that January 17th quake when were in Paramount? You said my face was bouncing on the bed as I slept right through it.

Anyways, I'm really glad that you're safe and sound, Atz. An 8.9 earthquake is superly big.. The earthquake that Ate Cecile mentioned (the Northridge Earthquake on January 17 '94) was only about 6.7 on the Ritcher Scale. Yeahs... so that must have done a lot of damage... depending on where it took place. I clicked the link, but it didn't like me so yeahs...

J - i thought about you when i heard about the earthquake. relieved to hear that you're okay. enjoying the pictures so much, and now i have this sudden craving for chili crabs. yum. (you know me - always eating or thinking of eating, haha.)

p.s. sharath thought at first that you might've slept thru the quake, and i said that i wouldn't be surprised. =)
