Let's Catch Up!

Just wanted to let you all know that I just got my new "SkypeIn" number. I chose a 404 area code so everyone in Atlanta can call me for free. =)

404.963.8754

I love it! As long as I have my computer on and I'm free to chat, I can pick up your call directly from my computer. Even though I'm here in Kuala Lumpur, it'll seem like you're calling an Atlanta number. Oh yeah! I also have v-mail so you can leave me a message if I'm not online or I'm not able to talk when you call.

I love technology!

Catch up with you soon.

p.s. keep in mind that I'm 12 hours ahead of EST/Atlanta time. So no calling at 3 in the after noon your time...because I'll be catching my zzzzzz in KL

If you are interested in getting a Skype account, click on the link I have in the righthand side bar. Calls from 'computer to computer' are free! This' how I've been keeping in touch with family since I've been here.

I never really used my Vonage phone. I left the US before it was shipped to me. (Vonage only ships the device to a US address).

So anyways...I just got this SkypeIn number and I've used it all weekend. =)

I love it! Talked to my sister for 2 hours and it routed any calls that I received to my v-mail.

I would definitely recommend it. It only cost me 30 Euros ($36USD) for the whole year. V-mail and caller ID included. =)

Hey Jill,
I saw on the news that having an internet phone service will make it hard to dial 911. They say it's the #1 complaint that they can't get through if there's an emergency. I know you have your cell, but for those that are considering using one of these phone services over the internet, what can you say about Skype, or more importantly, what info do they provide regarding 911 dialing? Do you feel you are taking a risk of not having this feature for emergencies in exchange for the federal regulated fees and taxes that you don't have to pay when you switch to one of those companies?

You know you love my posts.

Love,
Cecile
