Run Georgia Results

Here are the Stats from Saturday's 5K Road Race in Virginia Highlands, Atlanta.

BIB # TIME LAST NAME FIRST NAME PLACE

550 24:12 Mekala Sharath 73

379 27:19 Flores Courtney 59

548 33:41 Magsombol Jill 188

Some interesting facts to point out:

We arrived to in Virginia Highlands at 8:30am. It was a chilly 38°F w/ 60% humidity when the race began. A little over 600 runners started their journey from Fire Station #19, made their way through the neighborhood, went up one hill after the 2nd mile on the course, and ended at the Morningside Presbyterian Church.

If you visit the Stats page, you'll see that a 60+ year old woman beat me by 2 seconds and placed 3rd (in her age group).

My legs still hurt going up and down the stairs. Other than that, I'm ready to start training for my next race in January.

Road Race

Hey...I may be the last person to finish the 5k Virginia Highlands Road Race tomorrow...But I know I will finish it. Unfortunately, the weather here in Atlanta has been pretty chilly - today the roads are icy and many counties have closed schools - Soooo... I really haven't been training much for this race. (Yeah, I know. Excuses Excuses!)

I originally signed up for the 1mile race (haha), but a few hours after registering, I received a call saying that the 1mile race was cancelled because I was the only one who signed up for it. =)

They talked me into transferring my registration to the 5k. It'll be my first road race. I'm crossing my fingers that my body won't we super sore on Sunday...
